COURSE OVERVIEW
Noojee Return Back 99km | 2346hm | 4 timed segments
Between Warburton and Noojee lies a stretch of Champagne Gravel winding through temperate rainforest. Apart from a short 1.5 km climb around the 15 km mark, the gradients are gentle for most of the ride. The views are stunning, and when you reach Noojee you can stop at the shops or, if you’re quick, grab a meal at the Noojee Pub. The return takes you up and over Starlings Gap before a fun descent along Smyths Creek Road. It’s a belter of a day.
Starling Gap Loop 51.1km | 1075hm | 2 timed segments
A favourite among local riders, this loop offers gentle gradients, smooth gravel and incredible scenery. There’s a short 1.5 km climb that’s a bit tougher (and timed, of course), but it’s well worth the effort for what follows.
Noojee One way 46.7km | 1111hm | 2 timed segment
Why come all the way back if you have a friend or loved one who wants to check out the famous Noojee?! Roll out along the Yarra River, adventure past Big Pats Creek, climb Lyrebird and crest the hill on Brahams Road. Then look out, Noojee — you’re rolling all the way there (well, mostly). You’ll need to be self-supported for the pickup, but what an adventure.
Using the link below, you can download the routes to your phone or head unit ahead of the race and you can also see when timing segments start and finish.
Parking
There is parking near the Mac Sparke Oval at the start line. Please ensure you abide by the local parking signs. Do not park across driveways and avoid parking on wet/soggy areas to avoid damage.
Presentations + Timing
Reception up in the hills can be a bit patchy, and some of our timing points won’t upload their timing reads until the last rider passes and we can move them to a stronger reception. So presentations for Saturday will be at 4 pm in the Alpine Hotel, allowing us to get all the data and crunch the numbers.
Volunteer
If you’re interested in volunteering with us, email info@bighillevents.com.au. All volunteers receive a free entry to any Big Hill Event, which can be transferred to another person.
