21 Dec 2011 - The Duael is now open for Entries!
So as we mentioned in our December newsletter we have teamed up with Flat Hill Events to bring you this awesome 6 hour mtb pairs enduro; strictly one lap on, one lap off on the 1st of April 2012 up at Mt Macedon. Entries are open now, and are limited so make sure you get your ticket quick snap!

5 Dec 2011 - Brand New 800m Downhill for the 2012 Marathon Challenge Completed!
What an amazing weekend... Firstly massive thanks to Phil, Mark, Ash and Alan for helping out. So we got really lucky with the weather and managed to complete 60m of trail to link up the new 800m Downhill section - it'll be a great reward for the riders at the Marathon Challenge. We also got plenty of use out of the new Jack Hammer!

1 Dec 2011 - Entries now open for 2012 Marathon Challenge!
We are back with our ever improving course, 5 fully catered feed zones, Mt Avoca picturesque start / finish area and new for this event is the 65km distance and Saturday night Mt Avoca Barrel Room dinner.

Entries are limited so choose your challenge and get yourself ready!

So, Rohin has just bought a Gasoline Jack Hammer on eBay! We're all now just waiting for the post to arrive - in the meantime we're dribbling at the photo. Ready to use on the trail restoration this weekend. More photos to come soon!

 

 

22 Nov 2011 - Exciting footage from the Trail Restoration
Wow what a weekend.. Firstly massive thanks to Martin, Jason, Phil, Sam and Mark for helping out. How sweet will those free entries be when you get to ride this great bit of trail. So we got a bit wet on Saturday but still made managed to build some great trail in some of the hardest terrain. Then Sunday the sun came out and Sam, Mark and myself got down to business making 300+ meters of absolute gold. Yes this will be a down hill section on race day.

1 Nov 2011 - TRAIL BUILDING DAYS
Big Hill Events is continuing its development of the Pyrenees Endurance Trail and now is the time to get involved and help form this trail for many many years of future riding in the Pyrenees forest.  The current project list includes 2 sensational new down hill diversions that will see us build over 2kms of flowing benched single track.  In an exciting news break Sam Chancellor Plumbing will be in attendance for the weekend of 19th and 20th of November with his MINI EXCAVATOR so we can build the best possible trail.  It's a pretty rare occasion that trail is build using mini excavator and we thank Sam Chancellor Plumbing for his support of this project.  Come and be part of the development its all part of the reward. Dates for trail building are:
Sunday 6th November
Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th November
Saturday 3rd December (racing XC race at Wimmera Hills Winery on the 4th)

 

1 Nov 2011 - 2012 MARATHON CHALLENGE ENTRIES ABOUT TO OPEN
In 2012 at the Marathon Challenge it’s all about reward.  We have released a new distance option of 66kms to help with your progression from the 45km challenge towards the full 90km Challenge.  Trail modifications will be making the track far more rewarding with 2 newly built down hill sections on the Pyrenees Endurance Trail that will rock your sox of.   And the final kicker for this years Marathon Challenge is a complete revamp of the event dinner which will include a brand new location, heaps of tasty carb filled food and plenty of entertainment.

 

1 Nov 2011 – New events are in the making for BHE
You may have seen 2 links on our home page and wondered what we are up to.  Well we are brining you all something new with the DIRT GRAND FONDO.  Put it in your diary for 20th May 2012 and start thinking about what bike you will be riding.  As a little teaser entry categories will be 26”, 29” or Cyclo Cross.  EXCITING HUH
Run from the hills will not see any riding at all.  This event is all about the foot race and will be a brand new trail running event in the Pyrenees Hills behind Avoca.  More details on both of these exciting new events coming soon
